I'm at a loss at what to do next. Major setback. Manuscript has been rejected by copy editor for lack of structure. No bad feelings. Totally get it but came as a complete shock. If you have any advice, I'd love to hear it.

I'm drinking cups and cups  of pink cashmere tea while the rest of the museum still sleeps. There have been sightings of mangle-morphs and squeal hounds in the neighbourhood putting all of us on edge. It's been a bit disruptive to our dailies leaving dirty dishes in the sink and growling dust bunnies underneath our beds.
Be careful out there,

There's only 124 days until the opening of The Museum of Wayward Girls. I'm looking at ways to support the event as funds are in short supply since la révolution des choses volées. Let me know if you have any secret sources and keep them between the two of  us in case the Office of Nobility shuts  us down.

I'm worried yesterday's entry was a bit too much information and came off a bit over the top.  Today is a better day.  I'll tell you all about it when I get back.
I met with one of my favourite humans  and creative healing partner to talk about the illustrations and accompanying exhibit for the Museum of Wayward Girls. We explored the idea of Tessa and learned more about her complexity as a character and how everything is connected to her. I am in love with both these women and cannot believe how fortunate I am to have them in my life.

3 espressos. 4 pages. 2 glasses of wine. 1 anti-psychotic.
Sometimes I just sit. My mind goes blank and my body is immobile.  Evening cloaks the room in darkness and yet I do nothing. It's what we do. #coping #killingtime
Stay well.

Sigh. I did not get as much done as I wanted to yesterday. Drinks in the evening tend to slow me down.  I'm up to page 26 - only 238 more to go.  Here's hoping I'm more productive today.

1. Editing without mercy. Removing all words that only prove I have a giant thesaurus on my desk. Sometimes they simply 'walked' into the room. Nothing more. Nothing less.
2. Dislike disingenuous writing workshops  designed to make money off false aspirations and opaque dreams.  Don't tell me I'm great if I suck. Seriously.

After two years, six drafts, three content edits, and five beta readers, it’s finally time. There are exactly 144 days until the official launch party of the Museum of Wayward Girls. Promise! Tessa is tired of waiting for the world to hear her story and all the shit that goes along with it.

To keep myself on track, I’ll posting here on a regular basis to give brief updates on how I’m progressing.

I am prepping for a line by line edit for mid-November. I am on page 22 with a goal to be finished by mid-October – there are currently 265 pages.  This week is going to be amazing as my friend and artist, Mandy and I are having a creative healing pajama party to brainstorm imaging for the Museum of Wayward Girls. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Yours in faithful frivolity,
